Client
The client is a ride-sharing startup with an ecosystem that includes rider and driver apps, onboarding flows, and partner-facing tools. The registration portal is one of the most operationally important parts of that ecosystem because it handles driver enrollment and verification.
Challenge
The client needed an online portal for driver registration in the United States, including markets such as New York City, Washington State, and Chicago. After the first phase, the platform also had to support European countries and cities.
The challenge went beyond handling standard forms. The portal had to guide drivers through the full onboarding cycle: contact details, questionnaires, document upload, identity checks, and agreement signing. It also had to comply with different regional rules and support high traffic volumes.

Solution
SoftTeco built a driver registration web portal hat brings the onboarding process into one structured web flow. The system supports personal data verification, region-specific compliance logic, and integrations with external services for background checks, e-signatures, and marketing tracking, helping the client manage high registration volumes across different markets.

How it works
SoftTeco built the portal as a high-load onboarding system that could support both scalability and regional complexity. On the backend, we used Java, EclipseLink, Maven, and Guice, with PostgreSQL hosted on a separate server. To keep the core system cleaner, we handled Salesforce communication through an external AWS Lambda nano-service. That gave the integration layer a clearer boundary and made it easier to maintain.
The portal also had to support different rules across US and European cities. We implemented flexible rules management so the same product could handle region-specific onboarding logic instead of branching into separate systems. To support load, the team used Docker and AWS Load Balancer. The result was a portal that could process up to 1,000 registrations per day in one city.
On the frontend, SoftTeco built the portal with Angular 2, Gulp, Pug, and Styl. We also integrated DocuSign for electronic signatures, Checkr for background checks, and marketing services used to track CTR. Quality was a major part of the implementation as well: about 90% of use cases were covered by automated tests. That mattered because the product combined high traffic, multiple third-party services, and region-specific logic in one onboarding flow.

Results
SoftTeco helped turn driver onboarding into a structured digital process that could support both scaling and regional variation. Today, the portal handles high registration volumes, supports compliance requirements across the US and Europe, and reduces reliance on fragmented manual workflows. Our team gradually took over all development and support activities for the registration portal and expanded into related driver-facing sub-projects within the same mobility ecosystem.
