Client
The client is Deep Innovations, a technology company specializing in AI, computer vision, and cloud computing. Since 2017, the business has developed solutions that integrate artificial intelligence into everyday life, particularly in the smart home and security sectors in London.
Challenge
The client was developing PoolScout, an AI-powered pool safety system designed to prevent pool accidents in real time. The application has already been developed for many years without a structured approach and regular system improvements. The client approached SoftTeco to improve the solution’s performance, accuracy, and stability.

Solution
PoolScout is an AI-powered pool safety mobile solution that monitors everything around the pool in real time. It detects and distinguishes toddlers, adults, pets, other objects and their behaviors using a computer vision. By integrating with the camera and alarm system, the mobile application streams live footage of what’s happening around the pool and automatically identifies unsafe scenarios.
In the event of a serious incident, the app activates a system and sends alerts to the phones of all contacts added to the system to prevent accidents. Moreover, live video streaming helps users to quickly decide on how to react when a dangerous situation is detected. Users can configure safety parameters to define how the system should respond to different scenarios: when to send notifications, trigger the alarm system, or escalate to emergency contacts.

How it works
We worked closely with the client’s team to improve IoT system stability, accuracy, and performance. Our specialists conducted an in-depth analysis of the existing architecture, developed new features, and implemented performance improvements to resolve the client’s ongoing challenges. We have also modernized the infrastructure to enhance the efficiency of detecting unsafe situations, reducing classification errors, and false alerts.
The work began with the calibration camera setup, which automatically determines pool boundaries. During the process, we recorded the pool’s parameters in a database, along with video footage of an adult walking around it. Our specialists used various parameters, such as pool size, camera angle, and object height, to help the AI better understand the pool area and the surrounding environment.
Since the system operated in real-time and involved interactions between multiple systems, it sometimes produced incorrect or unpredictable results. We found that many errors were caused by racing conditions – situations in which processes access the same data simultaneously, leading to unstable system behavior. To address this issue, we conducted a detailed examination of the system’s architecture, analyzed data flows and component interactions, as well as pinpointed and resolved faults and their root causes.

Results
By working in close collaboration with the client’s in-house team, SoftTeco modernized the mobile application and improved its performance. PoolScout now delivers highly reliable real-time monitoring for all family members around the pool, significantly reducing false alerts. We are glad that we were able to work on an IoT development project and contribute to smart home safety.
Our work

Secure B2B Payment Solution Development – Melio
The SoftTeco team transformed Melio from an MVP into a full-fledged and secure B2B payment platform, added the requested functionality to the application and its integrations, improved analytics, and refactored the legacy code, bringing it up to modern standards.

Development of a Driver Registration Portal for a Mobility Platform
The client needed a driver onboarding portal that could support registration, verification, document upload, and agreement signing across the US and European markets. SoftTeco built a high-load web portal with flexible rules management, third-party integrations, and automated test coverage to support up to 1,000 registrations per day in one city.
