How it works
The main pain point of the diving community was lengthy and cumbersome dive sheet management. Dive Live successfully resolves the issue by allowing divers to fill in their dive sheets from their profile, rearrange the dive order as needed, and change it at any time. In addition, the app automatically validates the divers’ dive sheets and informs whether it does not adhere to the meet’s requirements and what exactly has to be changed.
The application has 8 user roles, each with their own level of access. Upon registration, the user has to join a team and select a corresponding role. The two main roles are divers and coaches. Coaches can create and configure meets, approve pending requests from divers, and assign administrators and judges.
The app is free but offers in-app purchases that allow expanding its functionality and getting access to premium features, like video archive storing or insights. Another monetization method is via meetings, due to their entrance fees and extra costs. The entry fee management panel for admins is written on WordPress and displays all payments, statistics, methods of payment, etc. There is also an option to add a spectator’s fee to the meeting, so divers can buy tickets for their friends and family to observe the competition.
The main benefit of the app is its high usability. When a diver fills in their dive sheet, the information is automatically added to the meet and can be accessed by judges and coaches. As well, the app supports a great number of real-time activities: from live competition streaming to checking the results in real-time. The application is connected with Google Cloud Platform for easier use.
