About this position
We are seeking a Java Developer to join a team working on a strategic, long-term project for a leading Scandinavian banking group in the Baltics.
Project focus: you will join an existing team to support the development and enhancement of a key banking platform. Your work will directly contribute to meeting the platform’s evolving requirements and achieving the strategic goals set through the end of 2026. This role involves collaborating on complex backend systems, ensuring their stability and scalability, and working in a hybrid model from our Vilnius office.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality full-stack development and testing;
- Participate in system design and architecture;
- Conduct code reviews and actively share knowledge with the team;
- Collaborate effectively within an Agile team, working with product owners, business analysts, and other engineers to ensure the delivery of high-quality software and IT services.
Technical skills
- 3+ years of professional experience with Java;
- Proficiency in the following technologies:
- Backend includes Java SE, Spring, REST, Oracle DB, Kafka, Docker;
- Development environment and tools include Git, Gradle, IntelliJ IDEA;
- Frontend includes HTML5, XSL, JavaScript/jQuery;
- Testing includes JUnit, Mockito, Mocha, Selenium;
- A relevant academic degree or equivalent work experience in IT.
Non-technical skills
- English proficiency at B1 level or higher;
- Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills;
- A results-oriented approach with an understanding of the business value behind your work;
- Proven experience working in Agile development environments and familiarity with methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe;
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Work schedule and format
- Full-time position;
- Work format: Hybrid. You need to come to the office in Vilnius 3 days a week;
- Flexible schedule from Monday to Friday. Most of our team members work from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Selection process
- Interview with a Recruiter & Check English (30 min);
- Technical interview covering skills with SoftTeco’s experts (1 hour);
- Client-side interview in English;
- Final HR interview to discuss work conditions and salary.
