Challenge
Due to the constantly growing size of our company, SoftTeco processes a great number of resumes on a daily basis. We needed a convenient tool to efficiently create and update them and keep all employees’ resumes in one place. In addition, we needed to convert CVs into different formats to send them to the clients without losing a bit of information. This is how the SoftTeco team came up with an idea of developing an internal tool for CV management.
Solution
CV Builder is a tool for managing all resumes within a company. With its help, employees can easily create their resumes via a user-friendly template that automatically fills in certain fields, depending on the selected position. As well, CV Builder allows managers to access the CVs of their team members and monitor whether they are filled correctly. In this way, we ensure the high quality of the resumes and their correspondence to the current level of employees’ skills and knowledge.

How it works
At first, the functionality of CV Builder was limited to the creation and export of resumes only. But after some time, for the purpose of maintaining high CV quality, the team added an option for managers to monitor and edit the CVs of their team members. Hence, we expanded the number of user roles of the platform and assigned different levels of access to them.
In order to ensure seamless circulation of employee data within the company, CV Builder is integrated with Statics – an internal system of keeping records of all employees (including the ones on the bench). In this way, the information about an employee’s availability and their stack of technology is always available.
To make the process of CV creation easier for employees, we incorporated several useful functions. First, there is an option of searching for a resume by selected keywords or tags. These tags can later be saved in Statics and can be used to search for employees for a specific tech stack..
CV Builder is also integrated with ChatGPT for easier and faster resume optimization. The two services communicate via SoftTeco’s and Open AI’s APIs. There is a specific button on the CV page that allows users to improve the “Summary” and “Projects” sections of their resumes. The original text serves as a base for improvement, but ChatGPT can also generate the needed copy from scratch, thus assisting users in filling in the needed CV areas.
Results
Right now, SoftTeco is actively using the CV Builder tool and we have seen great improvement in the quality of our employees’ resumes. Our clients are also satisfied with the convenient and universal format of the resumes and they left positive feedback on it. SoftTeco is now planning to expand the functionality of the platform and add new features to it to add more automation to the current process of CV management.
